This is the only department in Iraq that is concerned with training and preparing primary cadres in the field of remote sensing, processing and analysis of satellite digital images and data and geoinformatics.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe department combines earth sciences, physics, computers, civil engineering and surveying engineering departments, in addition to the concepts of remote sensing and digital image processing and analysis. The department’s vision is to be the first choice for undergraduate students accepted into the College of Science and for those interested in the field of remote sensing and spatial information systems.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe department’s mission is to provide qualified, effective, and specialized outputs in the field of remote sensing and spatial information systems at a high level of theoretical knowledge and ability for practical application. The department’s objectives include building the student’s personality, developing his scientific and research capabilities, raising the level of higher education and scientific research, and providing students with the specialized knowledge and applied skills necessary to use modern technology.<\/span><\/strong>
