The unit has a basic mission, which is to preserve the principles and foundations that it was established to achieve, which is to preserve the integrity of the English language during correspondence and official books written in the English language. The most important goal of these goals is to directly supervise the college\u2019s official website in English and provide assistance and correction to a large segment of faculty members, gentlemen and women working in the College of Science at the University of Baghdad and from various specializations, which works according to an advanced educational program. In addition, the unit and those in charge of it, including the administration and professors, seek to build the capabilities of the professors, encourage their abilities in the English language, and instill confidence in them. We in the unit aspire to raise their potential by focusing directly on the English language with the scientific specialization they need, and then raising their linguistic levels to the extent Which enables them to use English as a language of communication during the years of academic work.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nStriving to build the capabilities of faculty members and gentlemen and women working in the College of Science at the University of Baghdad and encourage their abilities in the English language.<\/span>
\nPreparing all faculty members and gentlemen and women working in the College of Science at the University of Baghdad and instilling confidence in them by focusing directly on the English language of the scientific specialization they need.<\/span>
\nCreating a scientific cultural environment that provides students with opportunities for self-development by providing them with comprehensive knowledge of the English language and its sciences.<\/span>
\nEncouraging critical understanding of the thought and cultures of the English-speaking world and opening channels of cultural dialogue with them, which helps in understanding and managing different cultures and expanding the horizons of dealing with others through teaching various literary texts.<\/span>
\nCommunicating with corresponding departments inside and outside Iraq for the purpose of exchanging experiences with them and benefiting from their experiences in all fields related to research written in the English language.<\/span>
\nContributing to serving and enriching the community by providing linguistic and translation expertise and consultations in the field of the English language to the college, educational institutions inside and outside the university, and governmental and non-governmental institutions.<\/span>
\nWorking to provide a positive atmosphere characterized by a democratic climate, high-quality human relations, and an emphasis on teamwork.<\/span>
\nImproving the level of overall performance through continuous evaluation of the unit\u2019s inputs and outputs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unit aspires and seeks to be a specialized academic supporter by providing integrated education according to quality academic programs to prepare scientifically qualified human cadres in the field of the English language capable of keeping pace with scientific studies and research by developing their linguistic, intellectual and research skills and enhancing their sense of confidence, as well as encouraging creative scientific research and striving. To provide its supplies in accordance with international best practices:<\/span><\/p>\n

Raising the level of English linguistics to the point where they can use English as a language of communication during their academic work years<\/span>
\nImproving the level of teaching to deal with scientific texts properly.<\/span>
\nThe unit performs linguistic evaluation of theses and dissertations for graduate students in scientific departments. Scientific research submitted for publication in the Iraqi Journal of Science, which is the scientific journal of the College of Science, is also evaluated. The unit aspires to establish an integrated language laboratory for the modern teaching method to increase students\u2019 understanding.<\/span>
\nTranslating official books from Arabic to English and vice versa and college correspondence<\/span>
\nSupervising the College of Science\u2019s website in English.<\/span>
\nStructural:<\/span><\/p>\n

The unit includes professors specializing in the English language who hold master\u2019s and doctoral degrees and hold academic titles who are proficient in their language levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Duties:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1- Raising the level of students and teachers regarding the English language to the extent that enables them to use it as a language of scientific, research and study communication.<\/span><\/p>\n

2- Improving the teaching level to deal with the translation of scientific texts properly.<\/span><\/p>\n

3- Teaching teachers and students the basics of the English language and the principles of translation and research writing.<\/span><\/p>\n

4- Evaluating research, theses and dissertations submitted for discussion and publication in scientific journals.<\/span><\/p>\n

5- Translating official books from Arabic to English and vice versa.<\/span><\/p>\n

6- Supervising the college\u2019s English language website and translating all news and scientific activities first.<\/span><\/p>\n

The work of the English Language Integrity Unit in the college and its addition to the structure of the Office of the Scientific Assistant is a scientific breakthrough and an important transition for the College of Science that can achieve a real intellectual renaissance and open up to the experiences of others by mastering this language, which is the result of the availability of educational environments and keeping pace with the advanced, distinguished international universities in what it provides.
