{"id":9721,"date":"2025-02-23T15:34:45","date_gmt":"2025-02-23T12:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.sc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9721"},"modified":"2025-02-23T15:34:45","modified_gmt":"2025-02-23T12:34:45","slug":"scientific-lecture-about-the-treatment-of-cancer-cells-via-plasma-activated-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.sc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9721","title":{"rendered":"Scientific Lecture about The Treatment of Cancer Cells Via Plasma-Activated Water"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><!--more--><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">The Department of Physics, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific lecture entitled <strong>&#8220;The Use of Plasma-Activated Water in The Treatment of Cancer Cells: New Prospects in Therapeutic Medicine&#8221;,<\/strong> sponsored by <strong>the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raid Falih Hassan,<\/strong> and attendance of many academics, research students, and those interested in medicine.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The purpose of the lecture<\/strong> is to familiarize with how plasma-activated water is produced using non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma, which ionizes air and floods water with reactive oxygen and nitrogen compounds (RONS) such as hydrogen peroxide (H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub>), nitrite (NO2\u2212) and nitrate (NO3\u2212).<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The lecture lectured<\/strong> by <strong>Dr. Hamad Rahim Hammoud,<\/strong> described the importance of plasma-activated water as an emerging treatment that uses reactive oxygen and nitrogen (RONS) to selectively target cancer cells, while reducing damage to healthy tissue, explaining how plasma-activated water can offer a promising alternative to cancer treatment, with potential benefits in safety, selectivity and non-interference.<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Department of Physics, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of","protected":false},"author":82,"featured_media":9722,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[48,45],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9721","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-college-news","category-physics-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
