{"id":9736,"date":"2025-03-14T08:19:17","date_gmt":"2025-03-14T05:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.sc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9736"},"modified":"2025-03-14T08:19:17","modified_gmt":"2025-03-14T05:19:17","slug":"the-implementation-of-solar-energy-systems-in-residential-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.sc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9736","title":{"rendered":"The Implementation of Solar Energy Systems in Residential Homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">The Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture titled &#8220;The Implementation of Solar Energy Systems in Residential Homes.&#8221; The lecture was held under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, Dean of the College.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">The lecture, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Adnan, focused on explaining how solar panels supply homes with energy, including calculating the required electricity, determining the number or surface area of solar cells needed, and assessing battery capacity and types. It also covered the optimal angle for panel installation and debunked the common misconception that Iraq\u2019s high temperatures improve solar energy generation. Instead, the lecture clarified that solar panels rely on sunlight, not heat, to produce energy. The lecture covered the components of photovoltaic solar energy systems for residential use, which include solar panels, a charge controller, batteries, and an inverter that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC).
