The Biological Research Unit for Hot Regions, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the Science College, University of Baghdad, held a lecture entitled ” Plagiarism of Research Using the turnitin program”. The lecture aimed to develop and improve researchers’ skills by providing trainees with fundamental concepts and advice about paraphrasing texts to identify the basic principles and concepts of plagiarism, to provide trainees with basic skills and advice about detecting plagiarism and paraphrasing texts through the use of plagiarism programs, especially the torrent program. The lecture presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hafez Abbas shed light on plagiarism which indicates the use of others’ ideas without attribution or utilizing them as one’s own, indicating that plagiarism takes many forms, and explaining that universities and journals have the turnitin program to examine scientific publications and academic books to verify papers, seeking out plagiarism.
