The students of the College of Science conduct an evening astronomical
The students of the Astronomy and Space Department at the University of Baghdad’s College of Science organized an evening observation event under the supervision of astrophotography instructors, educational supervisors, and the monitoring and imaging laboratory officials in the department. The event included field training to understand the movement of the sky and celestial bodies, as well as the use of telescopes to observe the moon, stars, and other celestial objects. Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Kamel Ahmed, the head of the department, along with other department instructors participating in the event, emphasized that these experiences are essential as they enhance students’ abilities to deal with the atmosphere of astronomical observation, qualifying them to work in different fields. It is worth noting that this event is part of the ambitious program of the Astronomy and Space Department to enhance the practical level of students, in line with the direction of higher education in Iraq to achieve the best levels for students in both theoretical and practical aspects
