The Department of Astronomy and Space, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a discussion panel entitled “Astronomy Without Borders”.The discussion panel aimed to introduce the techniques of electronic websites and their uses, as well as monitoring and analyzing data that provide students and researchers with the latest developments in astronomical observation and astronomy in Bahrain.The discussion panel lectures were given by  Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hassan Abdullah, a member of the International Astronomical Union and coordinator of the International Astronomical Union Office for Awareness and Education of Astronomy in Iraq, and via video conference technology, Professor Mariam Al-Qasab, coordinator of the International Astronomical Union Office for Awareness and Education of Astronomy in Bahrain and the head of the Star Observation Center for Astronomical Sciences. The lecture was a specialized scientific one that addressed the importance of astronomy, ways to develop it, its significance, and the endeavor to establish a global observatory to keep pace with developments in observation, research, and studies. It is worth mentioning that this activity is the first among the Department of Astronomy and Space and the coordinators of the International Astronomical Union’s offices for awareness and education in the Arab world, within the framework of developing the specialization of astronomy and space in Iraq.
