Faculty of Science reviewed a United Nations report on geospatial information in preparation for Iraq’s general population census
Under the patronage of the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan ,attending by, several teaching staff , students and specialists in statistics.
Department of Remote Sensitivity and Geographic Information Systems in collaboration with Continuing Education Unit of the Faculty, organized a lecture entitled
” United Nations Population Report on the Promotion of Geospatial Information in the Arab Region issued in 2020 to mark the proximity of the general population census in Iraq”
The purpose of the lecture was to examine the United Nations population report on statistical systems management, economic and computational statistics, environmental statistics, demographic and social statistics, sustainable development goal data and geospatial information in order to pave the way for Iraq’s census.
The lecture was presented by an academic teacher. Osama Hadi Mutalek. to review the importance of geospatial and statistical information supporting sustainable development goals as well as operational guidelines on integrating statistical information infrastructure and ensuring the implementation of the sustainable development agenda, keeping up-to-date on geospatial information in the United Nations system capacity-building “, including cross-cutting trends, technology, data, capacity-building and joint contributions.
