Faculty of Science discussed the importance of mathematics and its applications in everyday life
Under the patronage of the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan with attending of department academics staff, students and specialists in pure mathematics.
Mathematics Department, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, held a workshop entitled
“Mathematical modeling & its applications.
The workshop highlighted the role of mathematics in public life through the use of mathematical models in therapeutics and solutions, where natural phenomena of daily life are studied and transformed into mathematical models and mathematical methods trying to solve problems, analyze their scientific results.
The lecture was given by Assistant Professor Dr. Hiba Abdullahi Ibrahim and Assistant Professor Dr. Hoda Abdul Sattar Abd Aoun, included showing definitions of mathematical models & their applications in various areas of life, Explaining that mathematics has the characteristics and advantages of learning, developing thinking and justification, training of problem-solving and forming the idea of success, they emphasized the need to develop the students by life mathematical thinking to keep their mind up to using mathematics updates and effectiveness leading to link mathematics to everyday day life.
