GNU Radio Program and its Applications in Radio Astronomy
The Department of Astronomy and Space, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled “GNU Radio Program and its Applications in Radio Astronomy”.
The seminar presented by Dr. Imad Ksar Aqib, aimed to introduce GNU Radio, an open-source software development platform used in areas such as radio astronomy and wireless and digital communications.
The seminar included an overview of the work done by developers in creating special communication systems for processing digital signals easily and quickly using the Python programming language. It was highlighted that GNU Radio, able to generate various applications and systems such as radio telescopes, radar systems, wireless sensor networks, spectral analysis and UAV control.
