The Cessation of Smoking Because of Its effects on Health and negativity
The Department of Geology in collaboration with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop entitled “Smoking and Its Negative Effects under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, attendance of several students, academics and stakeholders in Medical and Biological sciences.
The workshop aimed to clarify the most important risks associated with smoking and how it affects gene expressions, intrinsic enzymes, and the negative role that smoking plays in destroying the liver and its enzymes with the identification of the most important substances in the smoke of the saplings.
The lectures were given by Dr. Rasha FawziProfessor Assistant Dr. Ather Idan Khalil and Associate Professor Dr. Sahar Younis and Chadha Fathi, to discuss the most important causes of the harmful smoking consequences on the human body and call for the need to quit and how this quit, while recommending the workshop by conducting other studies on the effect of smoking on genes, as well as the effect of smoking on the respiratory and the urinary systems and kidney. Also, the effect of smoking on the health of humans, especially the cardiovascular system, and the effect on the immune system in a negative way, impaired immunity and injury to respiratory disease and pneumonia infection.
