PhD thesis on the effect of candesartan on certain physiological indicators
The Department of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Science hosted a doctoral thesis discussion tagged “Physiological, Molecular and Immunological Study of a Group of Iraqi Patients with Hypertension Treated with Candesartan” by PhD student Salah Abd Ali Mohammed and supervised by Professor Soha Abd Al-Khalek al-Jawari.
The aim of the thesis is to study the effect of the drug candesartan on certain physiological indicators such as uric acid, blood urea, creatinine, and some hormones such as angiotensin, aldosterone, resonance, and adiponectin, as well as immune indicators such as interleukin 1, interleukin 18 and necrosis .
The thesis showed a decrease in the concentration of some physiological indicators related to kidney function (uric acid, blood urea and creatinine) and a decrease in the concentration of hormones affecting blood pressure balance (angiotensin, aldosterone and resonance) in hypertension patients treated with other drags.
