The Department of Remote Sensitivity and Geographic Information Systems, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a lecture entitled “Financial Mathematics” under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, and attended several students, academic teachers and specialists in financial and mathematics.

The lecture aimed to review the use of mathematical models in applied mathematics and quantitative analysis to decipher financial markets and help make sound financial decisions by addressing a range of papers and models that help to assess risks, identify financial instruments, and manage investment.

The lecture presented by Assistant Professor Usama Hadi Matlak included an introduction to financial mathematics, also called quantitative funding, financial engineering, computational finance, and how to apply mathematics and mathematical representation to solve financial problems financial mathematics is an important branch of mathematics, it includes a variety of applications in finance, the application of mathematics in financial problems, by modelling markets, analysing financial data.
