A Course Specializing in Gene Expression, Starters Design, and Results Analysis
The Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held the training course tagged “Gene Expression, Design of Starters, Analysis of Sequencing Results” under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, and the attendance of several higher studies students and the those interested in biotechnology disciplines.
The course aimed at enhancing participants’ understanding of basic molecular biology principles and technologies and enabling them to design and implement gene expression experiments, design starters, and develop DNA sequencing analysis skills using advanced tools and software.
The course presented by Assistant Professor and Dr. Rasha Al-Khalidi basic principles of gene expression and the use of PCR technologies to analyse gene expression, analyse data and interpret results, highlighting the most important design principles of starters for the PCR chain reaction and the most important bioinformatics tools and programs used to design and evaluate the adequacy of starters, used software tools to analyze genetic sequences applications in research and diagnosis.
