The Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Continuing and Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop entitled “How to Avoid Publishing in Predatory Journals” under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, and attendance of researchers, primary and higher students interested in scientific and research.

The workshop aimed to introduce predatory journals that are not subject to scientific sobriety do not fall within the requirements of promotion and evaluation in universities and adopt only material and commercial profit, as well as the objective of the course in raising the scientific and research level of teachers and researchers.

The workshop lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Jalal Nasser Gabr, highlighted predatory journals to sensitize professors and researchers about their titles and links in order not to fall into publishing traps and thus lose research and material loss and seek to publish in journals with a global impact factor within the classification estates. Within the scientific research plan that addresses local industrial or economic problems and others that give positive results to total research.
