The Biological Research Unit of the Tropical Regions, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a workshop entitled “The Use of Elisa Technology in Biological Examinations” under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, and the attendance of several students, academics, and biologists.

The workshop aimed to enhance the practical skills of students and researchers in the field of laboratory analysis, improve the efficiency of the use of the ELISA technique in diagnosis and scientific research, and explain the concepts of Elisa enzyme-related immune analysis, which is one of the most important laboratory technologies used in the diagnosis of diseases and the detection of proteins.

The workshop presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hafez Abbas and Ali Mahdi Saleh, included a theoretical aspect that addressed the principle of the work of ELISA, its various types (Direct, indirect, sandwich, competitive), as well as the importance of each step to ensure accuracy of results, also included the practical aspect from plate preparation, specimen addition, immune reaction, to reading results using the Microplate Reader.
