Insights Into Identity Verification and Prevention of Fraud in Electronic and Manual Signatures
The Department of Computer Science at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture entitled “Comparative Analysis of Electronic and Manual Signature Verification Systems”, sponsored by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan, and attended by many professionals, researchers and developers in the areas of biometrics and security, individuals working in areas requiring identity verification and fraud prevention, such as financial services, e-commerce, and legal systems.
The scientific lecture aimed to provide a comparison of the systems used to verify signatures online and offline, focusing on performance accuracy, speed, and security analysis. The lecture will help participants understand each system’s advantages and disadvantages and provide insights into how to choose the system best suited to security and documentation needs in different contexts.
The lecture was presented by Mila Ghazi Abdul Halim, to study the increased reliance on digital transactions and electronic authentication of importance in signature verification systems. Indicating that online signature verification systems capture dynamic features, such as pen pressing, speed, and track, in real time during user signature on a digital device, as well as reviewing the main differences between the two approaches, assessing each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and their application in high-security environments.
