Fundamentals of Statistical Principles Using IBM SPSS
The Tropical Biological Research Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Fundamentals of Statistical Principles Using IBM SPSS.” The event was held under the patronage of Dean of the College Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan.
The workshop, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Fada’ Othman, Professor Dr. Mohammed Jabir Lafta, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hafiz, aimed to provide an introduction to statistics and its types, along with a detailed explanation of statistical tests using IBM SPSS. It covered both parametric and non-parametric tests, including examples of each, and introduced various statistical software tools used for data analysis. The session also focused on determining the appropriate statistical tests for different data types, selecting the optimal sample size for experiments, and understanding the fundamentals of biostatistics using SPSS. The lecture included practical training on using IBM SPSS, along with an introduction to statistical software used for data analysis and an overview of different statistical tests suited for various data types. It also provided guidance on determining the appropriate sample size for experiments.
