Artificial Intelligence Applications and Their Effects on Human Life
At the University of Baghdad, the Department of Earth Science, in collaboration with the College of Science, recently hosted an academic lecture titled ‘Artificial Intelligence Applications and Their Effects on Human Life.’
The main purpose of the lecture was to emphasise the significant technological changes that define the present era. These changes are due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its rapid technological advancement, the main component of change being artificial intelligence (AI). AI is at the forefront of this revolution, driving innovation and reshaping industries.
The lecturer conveyed passion about the subject as contemporary applications of AI are examined, emphasising its remarkable ability to generate opportunities for humanity, enhance productivity, and drive substantial advancements across various industries.
The lecture and ensuing discussions also covered AI applications such as image and speech recognition, natural language processing, early-stage medical diagnostics, urban planning, and optimising of resource management efficiency. Developments in these applications are not just theoretical but are already improving our daily lives, from voice assistants to medical diagnosis tools.
