At the University of Baghdad, a recent seminar conducted by the Department of Biology entitled “The Impact of Medicinal Herbs on Fertility” generated considerable interest amongst faculty and students. The seminar examined the pharmacological potential of herbs within the context of ethnomedicine, particularly their contribution to enhancing fertility. The topic is one of increasing relevance, given the rising incidence of infertility and the growing interest in integrative health solutions.

The lecture commenced with a historical overview of medicinal herbs utilised in various cultures. It also addressed the challenges associated with herbal therapy, underscoring the necessity of clinical consultation. Furthermore, it highlighted the lifestyle factors, including nutrition and exercise, that significantly impact reproductive health, thereby empowering attendees to advocate for their own well-being in this field.

The question-and-answer session was pivotal, providing students with the opportunity to discuss dosages, side effects, and herbal interventions. This interaction emphasised attendees’ interest in integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary scientific understanding, positioning the audience as crucial contributors to the promotion of a holistic, evidence-based approach to health management.
