The Library of the College of Science at the University of Baghdad was established in 1949. It is considered one of the oldest libraries in Iraq and contains scientific disciplines, pure and applied sciences, on the following specializations:
Computers, mathematics, astronomy, physics, chemistry, earth science, life sciences, remote sensing, and biological technologies.
Since its establishment, the college library has been keen on serving scientific research and providing services to students, researchers, professors of the college and outsiders, and has worked over the years to provide its services to the beneficiaries, according to what is documented in the library’s visits record of students, researchers and professors, just as it has purchased books and trained cadres and students in library specialties.
In the interest of the college library to provide the best services to students and researchers, an automated index system has been implemented, and the beneficiary can identify the library’s contents of books, theses, letters and periodicals by writing the title or the author’s name. This service has been included within the Central Library website of the University of Baghdad.
The college library includes (33,296) books, in addition to (1444) titles of periodicals. (7014) Theses and theses are constantly increasing.
