The Department of Computer Science a Faculty of Science departments at Baghdad University , founded the department in 1983 when it was newly jurisdiction “over the world, gives the department  graduates from the students   initial studies Bachelor of Computer Science, the duration of the study in which four years studying the latest specialized curriculum in the field of programming student And computer technologies, networks, artificial intelligence, operating systems, databases and computer security. There are also graduate studies available in the department that grant a high diploma in computer science and a master’s in computer science.

The department seeks to improve the level and efficiency of the department’s graduates by constantly updating the study plans and carefully selecting their vocabulary to suit the needs of the labor market, and in accordance with international standards that guarantee the quality of performance and obtain international and local academic accreditation. Holders of higher degrees from the most prestigious local and international universities.

 The department provides the scientific arena with outstanding research presented by the teaching staff and graduate students with their supervisors and publishing it in local and international journals classified among the best international sources and projects that solve real problems in society and institutions. The department also holds, every academic year, many workshops, seminars and scientific and cultural lectures delivered by specialists from inside and outside the department.

We aspire to open branches in the precise disciplines of computer science with the expansion witnessed by the department in the presence of qualified professors with precise specializations such as computer security and networks, and the need for these specializations in government institutions and companies.

 The advancement of the department that we aspire to can be achieved by cooperation and working as a team that includes various scientific degrees and precise specializations in computer science, along with highly qualified technicians and administrators to provide the appropriate educational environment, which encourages students to excel and creativity to serve the community, and qualify them to enter the labor market.

We ask God the Almighty, the Almighty, to guide us and direct our steps to perform our duties to the fullest extent in the service of our students and our great country, Iraq.
