The Cultural Relations Unit aims to raise the scientific competence of the college’s members, including teachers and employees, by participating in scientific conferences held in universities and scientific centers outside Iraq, as well as scholarships, fellowships, study leaves, and teaching and development courses that are held for students in universities around the world according to their specializations, in order to introduce them to cultures. foreign countries and raise their academic level.
Tasks of the Cultural Relations Unit
Promoting applications from faculty and staff for scholarships, fellowships, and vacations.
Generalizing the scientific activities received from the Department of Cultural Relations at the University Presidency
Follow up on the affairs of students outside Iraq regarding extending the duration of study
Follow up with the University Relations Department to obtain the necessary approvals
Following up on delegates after they return from delegation and issuing disengagement and departure orders
Documenting and archiving all issued books
Coordinating with the Graduate Studies Division regarding master’s and doctoral students for research fellowships
Scholarship mechanism
Regarding the scholarship mechanism for students wishing to receive scholarships (fellowship, scholarship, study leave), as shown below:
1- The student submits an application to the head of the department in which he intends to apply to study outside Iraq (Master’s and PhD). The application includes the following attachments: –
A- Identification documents.
B- A pledge not to enroll in studies inside Iraq.
T- Acceptance obtained from one of the universities recognized by the Ministry.
D- An Arabic-English CV.
C- TOEFL or IELTS certificate.
H- International Health.
G- Not sentenced.
D- Summary of the master’s thesis.
I- PhD proposal.
T – To submit copies of the bachelor’s degree for applicants for the master’s degree, and copies of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees for doctoral applicants.
G- The application must be submitted at an appropriate time before the end of the period.
S-Recommendation from English language professors.
2- The application is submitted with the above attachments by the head of the scientific department to the scientific specialization matching committee. Then the application is submitted to the minutes of the scientific committee, and his travel does not affect the teaching process.
3- Other instructions related to acceptance by the donor country or any other new instructions.
4- The file is submitted in a letter signed by the department head or a memorandum to the Dean of the College for the purpose of referring it to the College Council.
5- The file is submitted by the College Council along with the minutes of the College Council, after obtaining approval or not, to the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit for the purpose of auditing the file and obtaining a summary of the service and the authenticity of the issuance of the certificate obtained from the Human Resources Division.
6- The scholarship student shall be provided with a letter of no objection or a letter of nomination addressed to the University of Baghdad/Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
