Admission Inputs
Admission to the Department of Physics requires a minimum high school average of 75% in the scientific specialization and specifying the department as a preference in the central admission electronic application.
Learning Outcomes
The department awards graduates a Bachelor of Science in Physics, requiring 128 credit hours distributed over eight semesters. Upon graduation, students are expected to be able to:
- Apply classical and modern physics concepts and laws in various fields such as electricity and magnetism, mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, atomic and nuclear physics, molecular physics, astronomy, and cosmology.
- Skillfully and responsibly handle physical and laboratory equipment, conducting practical experiments, analyzing results, and drawing scientific conclusions.
- Use computers and physics and mathematics software to solve problems, tackle equations, simulate scenarios, design projects, and produce and publish academic work.
- Develop skills in critical thinking, creativity, research, continuous learning, teamwork, effective communication, and uphold scientific and professional ethics.
