Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Department of Mathematics, applicants must hold a high school diploma in the scientific track with a minimum average of 75%. The department must also be selected as one of the preferences in the electronic central admission form.
Learning Outcomes
The department grants a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Mathematics major) after completing 128 credit hours distributed over eight semesters. Upon completing their studies, students will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, mathematical statistics, computer science, and information technology.
- Apply mathematical concepts, laws, equations, and theories in various fields such as algebra, analysis, geometry, logic, discrete mathematics, numerical mathematics, advanced mathematics, industrial mathematics, actuarial mathematics, and decision support mathematics.
- Use computers, mathematical software, and computational tools to solve problems, equations, simulations, designs, and scientific presentations and publications.
- Handle mathematical, computational, and laboratory equipment skillfully, accurately, and responsibly; conduct practical experiments, analyze results, and draw scientific conclusions.
- Develop critical thinking, creativity, research skills, continuous learning, teamwork, effective communication, and scientific and professional ethics.
