Plant Biotechnology Laboratory
The Plant Biotechnology Laboratory is one of the core laboratories in the Biotechnology Department, accommodating both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This laboratory specializes in various techniques related to the extraction and purification of secondary plant metabolites, including Soxhlet systems and Clevenger apparatus for extracting essential oils from plant samples.

 

Mycology Laboratory

The policy of the Mycology and Algae Laboratory focuses on providing the essential requirements to meet students’ needs by enabling them to identify the main types of fungi and algae and cultivate them in the laboratory using specific culture media for each type. Fungi and algae are classified based on their cultural and microscopic characteristics.

Biochemistry and Physiology Laboratory

The Biochemistry and Physiology Laboratory aims to excel in teaching the functions of the human body while highlighting research pathways in this field. It also focuses on explaining the chemical reactions occurring within the body that enable various physiological functions.

Genetic Engineering Laboratory

The policy of the Genetic Engineering Laboratory is to provide the essential requirements to meet students’ needs by conducting scientific experiments related to the extraction of DNA and RNA from various sources (plants, animals, humans, and bacteria) and measuring their concentrations.

Molecular Biology Laboratory

The Molecular Biology Laboratory provides students with a comprehensive review of the techniques and concepts commonly used in molecular biology laboratories, while also teaching them the necessary skills.

Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory

The laboratory conducts analyses and research related to the production of primary and secondary metabolic products from microbes, as well as the production of biofuels and the recycling of agricultural and industrial waste.

The Plant-Microbe Interactions Laboratory aims to excel in teaching the characteristics and significance of microorganisms, while also highlighting research pathways in this field.
