Student Affairs and Registration Department Information for New Students

The Student Affairs and Registration Department accepts students through both electronic and paper applications, which include the following application form:

  • Information Form
  • Selection of Academic Departments
  • Student Data and Information Completion
  • Student Data related to University ID

Conditions for Morning Study Admission

  • Applications begin from the date of the Central Admission Lists release and for two weeks after the official announcement of acceptance and the start of applications.
  • A file is to be collected from the Registration Department after verification.
  • Accepted students must ensure that their name in the central admission list matches the name on their educational certificate, nationality certificate, and unified national ID. If there is a discrepancy, they must inform the Registration Director for necessary actions.
  • Applications are accepted for the following academic departments: (Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, Biological Technologies, Mathematics, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Astronomy and Space).
  • Original graduation certificate certified by the Directorate General of Education in the student’s governorate and addressed to the Dean of the College of Science / University of Baghdad, along with a colored copy.
  • Iraqi nationality certificate, Civil Status ID, or unified national ID (colored copies).
  • A sponsorship letter addressed to the Dean of the College of Science / University of Baghdad, prepared in the Legal Affairs Department.
  • A residence certificate with a residence card (colored copies).
  • A medical examination.
  • School card.
  • Completion of the student data form with a recent photo.
  • Completion of three procedural forms verified by the preparatory schools and local area head (Mukhtar) and submitted with a recent photo.
  • Blood type.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched the electronic application form for central admission to universities for the academic year 2023/2022

The regulations for central admission through the general application channel or the martyrs’ channel specify that the student must be a graduate of the current year or an Iraqi expatriate holding an Iraqi preparatory certificate or its equivalent, born in 1998 or later. Graduates of the preparatory scientific and life sciences branches are required to fill in fifty choices, with at least ten institutes selected. Graduates of the literary branch must fill at least twenty-five choices, with at least ten institutes selected. Graduates of the fine arts branch must select ten choices, with at least two institutes selected.

The application process for students from the first-round graduates and those included in the second-round will continue through the central admission form via the Studies, Planning, and Follow-up Portal (www.dirasat-gate.org) until 2022/10/4

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research renews its invitation to its students to review their choices and refer to the student guide (http://mohesr.gov.iq/ar/ministry_uploads/2022/09/Dalel2223.pdf) for details regarding the universities, colleges, departments, and institutes they will apply to. At the same time, the ministry confirms that central admission is based on the choices recorded in the electronic form, depending on the student’s preferences and competition in the total score

The central admission process for direct admission colleges for the academic year 2022-2023 began on Sunday, September 4, 2022, according to the direct admission application regulations outlined below. The application period ends on 2022/9/19, after which tests will be conducted from 2022/9/20 to 2022/9/29 for the specialties included in direct admission for graduates of the preparatory schools from the scientific, applied, literary, fine arts, vocational, and Islamic branches.

Evening Study Application
The University of Baghdad announces the start of the evening study application process until 2022/10/10, according to the application regulations and conditions outlined in the Student Affairs Procedures Guide for the academic year 2023/2022. The application is open for the following colleges at the University of Baghdad: (College of Al-Khwarizmi Engineering, College of Science, College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences, College of Education for Pure Sciences Ibn Al-Haytham, College of Education for Girls, College of Arts, College of Political Science, College of Fine Arts, College of Islamic Sciences, College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls) via the link below

Application link for the Evening Study Form

The minimum admission scores are as follows:

  • Al-Khwarizmi Engineering: 70
  • Science: 65
  • Other specializations: 60
  • Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls: 55

Students wishing to apply for evening study from the graduates of the (Scientific, Life Sciences, Applied, Literary) branches should apply through the electronic form on the above website and visit the nearest college to their residence from the listed colleges

Important Notes:

  • Applicants to direct admission/evening study colleges at the College of Fine Arts and the College of Islamic Sciences should visit the college for the entrance exam.
  • Graduates from vocational and Islamic branches should visit the colleges offering the relevant specialization.
  • Applications that are not reviewed and activated by the guidance centers in the above-mentioned colleges will be disregarded.
