A training course organized by the College of Science to find out the results of atmospheric disturbances and their effects on photography
The Department of Astronomy and Space, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science of the University of Baghdad, held the training course entitled “Various Mathematical Representation of the Atmospheric Turbulence and its Effect on Space Photography Training Course”, with the participation of a number of students, researchers and those interested in the subject of the course in the disciplines of physics and remote sensing.
The course, which was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Nofi Hassan, Dr. Hoda Shaker Ali, and lecturer Hassanein Hassan Ali, aimed to present mathematical models of the atmosphere to describe atmospheric disturbances, its strength and effects in astrophotography, especially when observing a star in the sky, and the resulting atmospheric disturbances in the layers of the atmosphere and the important small continuous changes in the optical properties of the air between the star and the telescope (or the eye), and the small refraction of the light emitted by the star, and the star image vibrating around the detector or on the retina of the eye.
