The College of Science organizied a workshop on the types of agricultural environments specific to bacteria and their diagnosis
The Biological Research Unit for Hot Regions at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, recently organized a training workshop titled ‘Preparation of Bacterial Growth Media’. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize the participants with different types of bacterial growth media and various methods for bacterial diagnosis.The workshop, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Maisaa Kazem Habash and Assistant Professor Dr. Sinaa Walid Mohammed, provided insights into the preparation of both natural and artificial growth media, including PDA and MacConkey agar. Additionally, it covered techniques like streak plate cultures and the use of incubators to examine the visual characteristics of bacteria under a light microscope.
