In the College of Science Department of Biology at the University of Baghdad, a master thesis entitled ” Frequence of ebpA and ebpC in clinical Enterococcus faecalis ” by Ayat Ahmed Najm was discussed, Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. May Talib Flayyih. The study aimed to reveal the prevalence of ebpA and ebpC genes among clinical isolates and their relationship with the gene expression levels and biofilm formation in 207 samples. 118 isolates of E. faecalis were obtained using the Vitek 2 system. The E. faecalis isolates showed variations in the ebpC and ebpA genes. The ebpA gene showed high expression in biofilm formation isolated from the root canal, while the ebpC gene was high in the isolates producing biofilms from the root canal and urine. Gene expression of ebpA was high in drug-resistant E. faecalis isolated from the root canal, while the gene expression of ebpC was significantly elevated in isolates from the root canal and urine. Therefore, there is a significant correlation between the multi-drug resistance and gene expression of ebpA gene, while there is no significant correlation with ebpC.
