The Department of Biotechnology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture titled. “Optimal Conditions for Using Various Natural Agricultural Wastes to Develop a Suitable Local Cultivation Environment for the Production of the Wild Iraqi Shiitake Mushroom Strain RSR Lentinula edodes.” The lecture aimed to shed light on the importance of the Iraqi wild Shiitake mushroom due to its high nutritional value, rapid life cycle, and the possibility of continuous production. The lecture, presented by Assistant Lecturer Rasha Salam, included the appropriate soil for the production of Iraqi wild Shiitake mushrooms, which should possess characteristics of resistance to decay, high porosity, and low density to control the conditions conducive to production.
