The Euphrates River Basin in the Context of Climate Changes and Neighboring Nations
The Department of Geology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a seminar entitled “The Euphrates River Basin in the Context of Climate Changes and Neighboring Nations.” The seminar was presented by experienced professors, including Dr. Moataze Al-Dabbas, Dr. Iman Ahmed, and Dr. Omar Fatiyan Al-Rawi. The seminar aimed to examine the heavy reliance of the Arab region on shared water resources and what neighboring countries share in terms of water supplies among themselves, as well as with countries beyond their borders. The seminar included a detailed review of studies assessing the impact of climate change on the utilization and availability of shared water resources in the Tigris and Euphrates River basins in Iraq.
