The Physics Department of the College of Science at the University of Baghdad revived the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, by organizing a solidarity festival to emphasize the centrality of the Palestinian issue and express support and solidarity with the Palestinian people for freedom and independence. The festival was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, and was sponsored by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, along with a large number of students and faculty members. The University President, in his opening speech at the festival, expressed his high appreciation for what the Palestinian people are going through due to the occupier’s aggression. He conveyed his respect for the will of this steadfast and struggling people, sending a message of solidarity and support against the genocidal practices of the Zionist occupation. He affirmed that the Palestinian issue is the central issue of the nation. Professor Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Science, inaugurated an art exhibition organized by the Physics Department students. The exhibition featured artistic works in solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He expressed his deep admiration for the exhibited paintings, which reflected the creative products and spontaneous ideas of students supporting the Palestinian cause. The festival, which was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, and the assistants of the Dean of the College, included artistic and cultural activities and a theatrical performance. The participants raised the Iraqi and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans demanding an end to the Zionist aggression on these people and demanding their right to independence.
