The Department of Biology, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture titled “The Impact of Fast Food on Children’s Health.” The lecture aimed to raise awareness about the necessity of avoiding and minimizing the consumption of fast food by children and teenagers as much as possible, as it leads to significant harm, especially in children. The lecture, presented by Assistant Lecturer Leena Jafar Sultan, included an explanation of the term fast food, which generally refers to foods that are high in calories but low in nutritional value. She highlighted the widespread consumption of fast food among children, emphasizing that one of the major problems associated with fast food is its low nutritional value. She stressed that most people do not feel satiated when consuming fast food, leading them to consume larger quantities than usual.
