The Department of Biotechnology, in collaboration with the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, hosted a lecture titled “The Emergence of the FGFR2 Gene in Breast Cancer among Iraqi Women,” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Falih Hassan.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Zainab Anas, aimed to highlight the presence of genetic mutation in the FGFR2 gene among some breast cancer patients, and the impact of this mutation on prevention strategies, diagnosis, patient monitoring, and final treatment. The lecture aimed to highlight the different types of breast cancer, methods for early detection, risk factors, and the diagnostic process relying on precise histological examination. Additionally, it provided an overview of the main causes of the disease and the latest treatments used to manage it.
