The Remote Sensing Unit, in collaboration with the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Optical Sensors and Their Applications,” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Raed Falah Hassan. The workshop, presented by Assistant Professors Ahmed Falah Hassan, Mohammed Fuad Majid, Yasser Yassin , and Mustafa Bahaa Al-Din Hayif, aimed to review optical sensor devices, which are instruments that utilize light to measure and detect various parameters in their environment. The workshop aimed to increase the knowledge of researchers and graduate students in optical sensors and their applications, as well as to introduce the optical sensor, which is a device that converts light rays into electronic signals, measuring the physical quantity of light, and then translates it into a readable form using a tool. It is worth noting that the optical sensor, in general, is part of a larger system that integrates the light source, measurement device, and optical sensor
