Biological and Tropical Research Unit, in collaboration with the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Applications of Nanotechnology in the Manufacturing of Medical Preparations and Pesticides.” The workshop was patronage by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Raad Falah Hassan. The workshop, presented by Dr. Hazem Eidan, Dr. Shimaa Hameed, and Dr. Haifa Nouri, aimed to o introduce artificially engineered nanoparticles utilized in the production of medical formulations and agricultural pesticides. Additionally, it covered techniques for detecting pesticide residues, eliminating their adverse effects, enhancing the efficacy of biological control agents, and various other applications. The workshop shed light on the significance of understanding nano-applications in producing medical formulations and addressing agricultural pests comprehensively. These aspects are pivotal in both medical and agricultural realms, as they help mitigate substantial economic losses through the adoption of advanced technologies. Additionally, they tackle significant risks to global health and food security by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies in developing various medical formulations and pesticides resistant to agricultural pests.
