Under the care and supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, in the presence of a number of students, teachers and educational guidance committees, Department of Biotechnology, in cooperation with continuing education, held a workshop tagged “Drugs as a societal issue”

    this workshop aspired to raise social awareness of the issue of drugs, which is the most important issue because it affects societies worldwide, and included a focus on the issue of the spread of drugs and their impact on individuals and families, the crimes they cause, the rehabilitation of addicts and cost of their treatment.

   It also included a lecture presented  by Brigadier General Ziad Khalaf Kata, stressing the need for comprehensive cooperation between governments, communities and institutions to strengthen the role of awareness-raising, stating that the issue of drugs is a complex challenge affecting society, the economy and health, as it has a negative impact on individuals and families, and increased violence, requiring significant efforts including awareness-raising and treatment programs to combat that scourge.
