Department of Life Sciences, organized a lecture entitled “Bacterial pathogens transmitted through food”, Sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, attending by  teaching staff, students and specialists in bacterial and nutritional matters.

The lecture aimed to defining food-borne diseases as diseases of an infectious or toxic nature by consuming contaminated foods or water classified as food-borne by poisoning and infection groups, as a result of ingestion of a toxic substance produced by pathogens, while infection occurs by eating foods containing living pathogens.

     This lecture was presented by Dr. Nasreen Hadi included highlighted E. coli infection, salmonellosis, and staphylococcal food poisoning, which are among the main nutritional diseases caused by bacteria, recommending refraining from eating Undercooked food, thoroughly washing fruit and vegetables before eating and not eating exposed foods because of their negative effects on the health of people who have weakened immune systems, and in healthy people who are exposed to a very high dose of pathogens.
