Faculty of Science held a scientific seminar discussed the ways of achieving sustainable development goals through environmental awareness
Under the auspices of the head of Baghdad University, Professor Baha Ibrahim Nasaf, and the Dean of science College, Associate Professor, Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, with attending of his Assistant of Student Affairs, teaching staff, students, and specialists of Sustainable development.
Department of Remote Sensitivity and Geographic Information Systems organized a scientific symposium tagged
“The role of our University to achieve the objectives of sustainable development and environmental awareness”
The symposium entitled “The Future of Iraq as a goal of Sustainable Development”
Aimed to highlighting on the role of University in achieving sustainable development and serving the community as a basic foundation of a modern country that based on evolving steps.
The symposium included many important lectures presented by several Professors the first was Karim Ismail Amouri with lecture tagged “The impact of green energy applications on sustainability”, Associate Professor Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi Al-Sudani with lecture “Iraq & Sustainable Development Goals” , Associate Professor Dr. Esra Qahtan Abdul Karim with lecture “Requirements for sustainable development in universities” and Professor Dr. Sandes Abdul Abbas with lecture “Sustainable Development in Urban Planning and Smart Cities”.
They all reviewed the significant role played by the University in developing society, as well as the human training in various fields, showing the concept of sustainability and its objectives and requirements keeping up with the objectives of the United Nations.
At the end, the Dean Assistant of Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Namir Ibrahim Abbas, gave certificates to participants and contributors.
