Faculty of Science held an instructing lecture encouraging academic college staff to registration in the university’s digital repository
Under the patronage of the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan with attending of department academics staff, students and specialists in scientific promotion committees.
The Physics Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a lecture entitled
“Managing and organizing academic accounts in the digital repository of Baghdad University”
The purpose of the lecture was to highlight archiving and organization process of metadata and files showing how to arrange it , explaining the role of teaching in digital repository and the role of the technical manager, in addition of increasing the number of onsite enrolments , the number of catalogued research and scientific and research information for the researcher as well as how to increase references to research and journals, facilitate access to researchers by specialization and improve access to more accurate scientific results, as well as provide statistical data for scientific output.
The lecture was presented by Dr. Omar Abdul Sadah, explaining how to register in the digital repository, manage the account, and organize academic and scientific information for the researcher in a way that facilitates data to review his scientific background and educational data in addition to research expertise in a way that makes it easier for researchers to find fields of researches and their scientific reference, emphasized that all students and researchers of Faculty of Science should register in the digital repository, as well as scientific and research information documentation.

In the College of science, University of Baghdad, a master’s thesis was discussed, tagged “Biostratigraphy and Depositional Environmental of Yamama Formation in Faihaa Oil Field Southern Iraq” by the research student Maryam Mohammad Taha and presented to the Geology Department under the supervision by Dr. Salam I.
