A Lecture about The History of Epidemics and Their Treatments
The Biological Research Unit for the Tropical Regions in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a lecture entitled “Epidemiology” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan and in presence of a number of the members of the unit, academics, and research students.
The lecture aimed to identify the history of epidemiology and the most important scientists who participated in the establishment of this science and how to deal with the diseases that fall under this title as well as the types of epidemiological studies and the most important terms associated with it.
This lecture presented by Prof. Mohammed Jaber included the introduction of the most important programs used in the completion of epidemiological studies and the most important demographic, social, and economic transformations that have occurred in the world. Also, reviewing the history of epidemics and diseases throughout the different eras of history the nature of human responses to them, and ways to face the epidemics and diseases that swept the world in the middle and modern history.
