Tropical – Biological Research Unit, in cooperation with Continuing Education Unit of college of Science, held a lecture entitled ” The Use of Nanoparticles in cosmetics”
The lecture presented by Dr. Alaa Mohamed Atheeb aimed to define nanoparticles that have received increasing attention in recent years, because of the importance of them in various fields including medicine, cosmetics , chemistry and other sciences .
The lecture include explaining of physical , chemical characteristics , possible negative effects of nanoparticles and their effective regulation, ensuring the need to develop the measurement procedures adopted for different characteristics of nanoparticles, indicating that there are various devices to examine and characterize nanoparticles of various types and bodies, which are usually linked to computers and administered by special programs .

In the College of science, University of Baghdad, a master’s thesis was discussed, tagged “Biostratigraphy and Depositional Environmental of Yamama Formation in Faihaa Oil Field Southern Iraq” by the research student Maryam Mohammad Taha and presented to the Geology Department under the supervision by Dr. Salam I.
