The Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled ” Mathematical Applications in the Iraqi Job Market” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hasan. The workshop, presented by Dr. Ali Abdul Kadhim Rahema, aimed to introduce the use of individual expertise to understand human behavior, the financial value of products and brands, and how to navigate the markets for each product. It particularly focused on the role of mathematics in various fields of research and analysis, as well as the applications of critical thinking and enhancing data-driven capabilities in solving problems related to production or marketing on a daily basis.

The workshop provided an overview of the current job market landscape in both the public and private sectors, highlighting the balance between academic qualifications and the skills required by employers. It also addressed the key preparations needed for graduates of this department, emphasizing the importance of creating job opportunities and integrating them into both sectors. The discussion focused on leveraging this specialization in areas such as human resources, education, financial and administrative services, statistics, management, computer science, scientific consulting, as well as analytical and organizational skills, energy, and military fields.
