The Biofilm and Inflammatory Bacteria, the use of antibiotics
The Biological Research Unit for the Tropical Regions in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a workshop entitled “How to determine the composition of the living membrane of bacteria outside the living body using different methods” under the patronage of the Dean of the College Assistant ProfessorDr. Raed Faleh Hassan and the presence of several students, researchers and those concerned with medical affairs.
The workshop aimed to publicize the reliance of bacteria on social cooperation to produce a biofilm that protects society. Bacteria are small cells that can enter the human body and cause infections that infect humans, which need to kill or stop the growth of these bacteria, and doctors recommend the administration of drugs called antibiotics to help the body eliminate infection. The workshop was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Zainab ZamelKhalaf and Dr. Hiba Khalil Tawfik. To understand the biofilm, which is a complex community of micro-organisms with each other and may be of one or different species and synergistically coexist with each other in terms of location and nutrient provision, indicating that there are random changes in the genetic material of bacteria or DNA, as DNA provides instructions to tell the cell how it works.
