A Seminar on the Importance of Mathematics and its Applications in Scientific and Engineering Aspects
The Department of Mathematics, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled “Applications of Mathematics in Science and Engineering”, under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, and attended several postgraduate, academics and who interested in scientific applications.
The symposium aimed to clarify the applications of mathematics and to make practical use of mathematics in scientific and practical fields while attempting to disseminate widely the relationships between different sciences among researchers for their importance in many different needs in life.
The symposium was lectured byAssociate Professor Dr. Shirin Rasul Jawad and Dunya Sultan Ibrahim to highlight the specialization of mathematics and its applications in the scientific and engineering fields by applying the idea of using applied mathematics in various sciences such as Physics, Biology, Microelectronics, Chemistry, Engineering, Medicine, Management and widely disseminating the relationships between mathematics and science and engineering among researchers for their importance in the applied aspect of many different needs in life.

In the College of science, University of Baghdad, a master’s thesis was discussed, tagged “Biostratigraphy and Depositional Environmental of Yamama Formation in Faihaa Oil Field Southern Iraq” by the research student Maryam Mohammad Taha and presented to the Geology Department under the supervision by Dr. Salam I.
