The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, Baghdad University, organized a workshop entitled “Addiction and Its Risk to Society” under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, and attended a lot of academics, students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and educational guidance committees.

The purpose of the course was to demonstrate the resulting satisfaction following the severe pain experienced by some addicted patients, under the lack of knowledge of the negative effects of the drugs. Especially in the long term, in not detecting its harm. Making the drug poorly used in making it a means of escaping the underlying reality.

The course presented by the academics Ghosn Ghazi, Associate Professor Dr. Zina Moeen, Qaswa Khalid, Zahra Husam, and Fatima Hassan to review the drug addicted to by the user, indicate the causes of the addiction, the methods of treatment, the types of shopping and digital addiction, drug and alcohol addiction and are substances that by their chemical nature affect the body of the organism or the functions performed by its ingredients with known characteristics of alert or anesthesia, indicating the importance of differentiating between medication or pharmaceuticals and drugs, as the first is used for treatment, while the second is used poorly for its harmful effects physically and socially. Awareness of the importance of educational and awareness media programmes that show the extent of drug addiction.
