A workshop about The Vital Role of GIS in Achieving the Sustainability of Engineering Projects
The Department of Remote Sensitivity and Geographic Information Systems, in collaboration with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized the workshop tagged “Sustainability of Engineering Projects and Geographic Information Systems” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Falih Hassan, and the attendance of several students, academics and specialists involved in the disciplines specialized in engineering and remote engineering disciplines.
The workshop aimed to publicize the vital role of GIS in achieving the sustainability of engineering projects by helping them analyze spatial data and make better decisions as one of the most important modern directions in the field of engineering to balance technological development and environmental conservation.
The workshop displayed by Huda Wajd and engineers Reem Ibrahim and Reem Shahab Hamid, to discuss the workshop’s themes in clarifying and analysing the fundamentals of GIS from all spatial data, As well as conceptualizing such data from maps and images and the role of GIS in the sustainability of engineering design and implementation projects and the most recent orientations in the field of engineering to balance technical development with the preservation of the environment Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
