Lecture on Climate Change in Iraq and Plans to Confront It
The Department of Geology, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture tagged “Climate Change in Iraq and Procedures and Plans to be Followed to Reduce its Risks” under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Raid Falih Hassan, and attendance of several of students, academics and those concerned with geography and remote sensitivity.
The objective of the lecture was to publicize climate changes, which are important topics because of their implications on public life, the environment and the climate of countries, particularly dust storms. Particularly, Iraq is one of the countries most affected by climate change and the frequent occurrence of dust storms, as well as its objective to develop the skills of researchers in their various disciplines and the department’s graduates from geologists.
The lecture displayed by Dr. Hassan Kattouf included theoretical and practical applications on the topic of climate change and the increasing occurrence of dust storms, as well as reviewing the types of laboratory analyses that can be performed on dust storm samples and methods of collection The workshop also touched on the most important laboratory devices used in the analysis of dust storm samples, as it is a very important topic as affecting the future of states, peoples and Iraq.
