Women in the Digital Society: Opportunities and Challenges
The Women’s Affairs and Psychological Counseling & Educational Guidance Units, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture titled “Women in the Digital Society: Opportunities and Challenges.” The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Faleh Hassan
. The lecture, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Abdul-Zahra Abdullah, aimed to highlight women’s role in the digital technology sector across economic, research, scientific, and professional fields. It emphasized their active contribution to advancing communications, digital intelligence, and modern technology, reinforcing their position in society and their partnership with men in the digital age.
The lecture emphasized the importance of equipping girls and women with digital skills as a key to their digital inclusion, enabling them to access better opportunities in education and employment. It highlighted the need for women to be active participants in the field, contributing through research and expertise in communications and information systems. The discussion also underscored that women bring diverse perspectives and exceptional capabilities to enhancing performance in the digital sector.
